And just like that Christmas has come to an end. New Year’s approaches quickly and we all know with New Year’s comes celebrations, and with celebrations come gatherings.
Gatherings can no longer be like they once were. Times are changing, and just as we shared some helpful tips and tricks for celebrating Christmas safely, we are now going to share some tips and tricks on how to celebrate New Year’s safely in the middle of a pandemic where nothing is the same as it once was.
New Year’s is a time for celebration of course, but things will just have to be a bit more laid back and relaxed for this year.
Here are some of the suggestions we have for celebrations during these times…
- Make a NYE Zoom meeting. Invite all of your family and friends. This gives you the opportunity to be with the ones you love on a special night. You can all ring in the New Year together while also protecting yourself from germs that could potentially infect you and make you sick. Social distancing and opting to stay in is your best bet against this virus.
- Invite one family member, S.O., or friend that you know is COVID-19 negative. Ask them to quarantine the weekend with you! Cook a delicious meal, stay away from large crowds, and enjoy your one-person company. An awesome night in with board games, old movies, and of course watching the ball drop…. Maybe even having a few glasses of champagne in celebration! Remember, don’t overdo it with booze!
- If you are planning on celebrating with a few close friends, make sure to keep your company to a minimum and make sure to practice safe social distancing. Don’t overdo it this year, your health is more important than a night out on the town!
- Make sure if you are cooking or preparing food, to sanitize and keep your preparation area clean and free of contamination. In these times, it is easy to contaminate a surface or food item with germs.
Enjoy your New Year’s celebrations this year…a little differently. No matter what you do, remember to protect yourself and your family. Take these precautions and tips with you in your travels and celebrations to stay safe!
